Is there anyway I could increase my success ratio when scraping? Maybe I could scrape from all sources at the same time; mobygames, gamefaq, allgames and google? Is it possible?
- first, most of the time a game is not found because it not have a right filename. So using several source will not solve the problem at all.
- second, some sources, like Allgame or gamefaqs return the first approching result. So have a result do not mean that you have the right result. There is always mistake. So it could happen that for a same game you will have different results depending the source you are using... In this case... which result will be taken into account by Advanced Launcher? Only the user can make the difference.
- Finally, some rare games are not referenced by any source. In this case scraping from different sources will take time for nothing.
I could give you some hints :
- Use semi-automatic scraping method. It will take more time than the automatic one, but your results will be more accurate.
- Use allgame database for game data. For me, it have the more complete database.
- For thumbs or fanarts use gamefaq or mobygames.

Quote:I have found that Z26 and SSNES are best for emulating these two consoles in Windows, after trying out a lot of alternatives and reading up. As they are emulating exact, they are rich in CLI features and have no GUI frontend except for XBMC.Maye you can share you launchers configurations here with others. It will help a lot of people. I will be able to test them and add the information to the dedicated wiki pages : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page
