In my case, I want a quick way to load XBMC, which is why I installed it on my HTPC.You know, you can install a lot of different minimalist Linux distributions, without any UI on an HTPC. Mine is running under ArchLinux, without UI and it directly open with XBMC. XBMCLive is not necessary to do this. Only advantage of XBMCLive is that you can use it on any HTPC or computer without a permanent installation. That's what we call a demo.
It will boot directly into XBMC and I never 'see' anything from Linux. It is just a minimal linux install with xbmc installed, you just don't have the UI. You can imagine that especially for us, Advanced Launcher comes in handy.

So, for me, it seems that it is only related to the use of XBMCLIve. On your system, where is installed Spotify? On your HTPC or on your XBMCLive CD or USB Key? Does Spotify is able to be started alone on your system (without using XBMC and/or Advanced Launcher)?
I see you updated the plugin, let me try to create it again and see if it works now!
Update: Even though I can now select the Linux platform, it still doesn't work. The screen refreshes for a moment and then I'm back in the launcher select menu. Could someone please check if Spotify works?
