Concerning Emumovies it is not possible to individually download fanarts from this web site. BTW, if you want to automatically use group of fanarts present on your hard drive you have two possibilities :
- If fanarts are into a folder different than the thumbs, images named with the same filename as the roms will be automatically recognized and linked into advanced launcher (just select the "none" value for the "Import during scan" option into the fanart scrapper settings).
- If fanarts are into the same folder than the thumbs, images named with the same filename as the roms and with the _fanat suffix (like gamefilename_fanart.jpg) will be automatically recognized and linked into advanced launcher (here again you will have to select the "none" value for the "Import during scan" option into the fanart scrapper settings).
Advanced Launcher is an application launcher, not a games manager. I do not see the interest to have US, EU or JP version of the same game on a system. Are you really going to play a those 3 different versions? BTW, if you want to differentiate US, EU and JP version you can do is to create 3 different folders (one for US, one for EU and one for JP games) and create 3 related scrappers (one for US, one for EU and one for JP games). Then, during import select the related region value for the "Thumb Region" option into the thumb scrapper settings. Advantage of this method :
- You could have different scrappers for different machine : Genesis (US) vs. Megadrive (EU).
- You will not have duplicate games for the same launcher.
- You will not have different cover sizes for the same launcher. SNES (wide covers) vs. Super Famicon (tall covers)
Go into "Edit Launcher" then select "Clear Items List". If you already have made a complete import before, that's mean that the corresponding thumbs and fanarts are already been dowloaded. So go into "Add-on Setting", select the "none" value for the "Import during scan" option for both thumd and fanart scrappers. Then select the desired "Scraper Source" for "Data & Infos" scraper and start another scan.
You have some very good points. I think I will try and work a bit with the 'semi-automatic' options of ALA. I haven't done this. It will still be a lot of work I think, but it is worth a try.
I wasn't aware of the 'clear items list' either. I will try this as well.
I'm not planning on playing all the different versions of a game, you are right. I just want to create the ultimate complete collections in XBMC. I know, I know, it sounds crazy ...
Thank you for your time.
