[Live] [Dharma RC2] Crash/Stop responding after FTP
#1
Hello again guys, sorry for the influx of threads, but I've finally got my media centre half working again! Now all I need to do is fix this slight FTP issue and the HDD problem, then I'm ready to go! Smile

Anyway, the problem is as below:

I sftp to the server fine,
I start transferring files, which goes fine
After a (what seems to be) random amount of time transferring files, my FTP Status box says:
Quote:Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "[email protected]" 22
Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Delaying connection for 1 second due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.8...
Status: Connecting to 192.168.0.8...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "[email protected]" 22
Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "[email protected]" 22
Error: Server unexpectedly closed network connection
Error: Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...

At which point, I look over to my xbmc box, and the screen is darkened, I can't move any menus, and to get it responding again, I have to reboot the whole system!

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kris

After re-installing xbmc, I'm still facing the same problem, after FTP'ing for a while the sysem appears to halt and crash I disabled the screensaver and power save functions but it still seems to do it!

Any suggestions?

you dont offer much information except for the problem.

No system details e.g. hardware
No Logs of any sort.
No idea what Linux your using or how your installing XBMC
Are you using wired or wifi?
and the list goes on and on of step by step stuff.

so I dont think. as IS, you gonna get much help with that...

could be a hw failure on the nic part or just something else.
