[MOD] Show FanArt in Programs
#1
Thumbs Up
First of all, I would like to say that I'm a huge XBMC fan and long time XBMC user. I'm new to posting in these forums but I've used them many times in the past for help. Anyways, I had been looking for a way to show fan art while browsing through Programs but could not find an old Post on how to do so (apologies if there is one). So I eventually figured it out myself and I decided to make this post for anyone looking to do the same.

In order to show fanart in Programs, all you need to do is replace the MyPrograms.xml file with the one I've provided at the bottom of this post in the 720p folder of the skin. I personally use Influence (which is a great skin), but I have also tested this in Confluence and have included the MyPrograms.xml file for each.

For Influence: Place the MyPrograms.xml in:
%APPDATA%\XBMC\addons\skin.Influence\720p

For Confluence: Place the MyPrograms.xml in:
..Program Files\XBMC\addons\skin.confluence\720p

And now some screenshots, the first ones are with the Influence Skin, but I have included a few Confluence ones as well.

And Finally, use the link below to download the MyPrograms.xml file

Well this is good news that I'm not completely losing my mind. After taking a several year break, I've started writing some plugin and have been wondering why the eff no fanarts are showing up. I switch to some other skin just for the hell of it and see the fanarts displaying just as expected there. This is when I realized it must be something to do with Confluence.

Anyway, thanks for your MyPrograms.xml, I replaced mine with yours and everything displays as expected.

It would be nice if Confluence behaved this way by default, hopefully this could make it as part of the standard skin.

Also, it appears you were doing this on a windows machine. If you were wondering if it works on a Linux machine, it does (Ubuntu 10.04 + xbmc 10.0 r35648).
