Dharma Audio issues
#1
OK. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm hoping someone has some info on this.

I have a couple of audio issues with Dharma. First is that I get no navigation sounds at all. Second issue is that videos with mono audio play, but there is no sound.

I've tried dozens of changes to the config but just can't come up with anything.

Dharma is running on Lucid Lynx. Sound is through onboard audio (AC97) through SPDIF to Altec Lansing Speakers.

The following is uncommented from /etc/pulse/default.pa
load-module module-alsa-source device=hw:0,1

I have the following setup in Dharma:

Audio Output: optical/coax
Speaker Configuration: 5.1
Boost Volume Level On Downmix: Yes
Dolby Digital AC3 Capable Receiver: Yes
DTS Capable Receiver: No
Audio Output Device: Custom
Custom Audio Device: plug:iec958
Passthrough Output Device: iec958

Code:
aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 0: ALC662 rev1 Analog [ALC662 rev1 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 1: ALC662 rev1 Digital [ALC662 rev1 Digital]
  Subdevices: 0/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

Code:
aplay -L

Code:
cat /etc/asound.conf

        type hw

        device 1
}

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your SPDIF is not recognized by Alsa. Are you using XBMC Live or is this a custom install / upgrade? XBMC Live (10.00) should recognized your chip out of the box.

Sorry about not posting that. This is not a live install. Do I need to remove PulseAudio again?
