What's the difference between the two menu choices above?

Thanks in advance.

Scan for new content only scans the path you are highlighting.

Update Library scans all paths.

Just wanted to chime in on this thread and note that while jmarshall is correct, both menu choices also have another difference.

Under certain circumstances, the "Update Library" option will not fully update the library while the "Scan for new content" will update the offending part of the library just fine. Ref: Library not updating with Dharma trunk and Scan for new content / update library
