Uninstalling just XBMC
#1
Hi,
please find first my configuration:

Platform: ATV2
Version of iOS: 4.3 (2557)
XBMC 11.0 Git:20121026-c58d27b (Compiled: Oct 26 2012)
install versionConfusedsh -> apt-get update

I have the problem that I cannot open the "subtitle menu" anymore.
Usually by pressing the OK-button long while watching a movie, the menu where inter alia the subtitles can be swithed on/off appears.

Currently the is no difference in pressing the Ok-button long (should result in the appearance of the subtitle menu) or short (pause). In both case the movie pauses.
So I have no possibility to disable the subtitles that are switched on by default.

Do you have any idea how to solve this issue?

I already tried to update to a newer nightly build but this changed nothing at all.

So I thought that maybe I need to "uninstalling just XBMC" (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW..._just_XBMC)
and install XBMC new and the nightly build afterwards, but in that case the following error appears:

Apple-TV:~ root# apt-get remove org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
org.xbmc.xbmc-seatbeltunlock gawk bsdiff
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 20 not upgraded.
E: Archive directory /var/cache/apt/archives/partial is missing.

So it's not even possible to uninstal XBMC.

Thank you very much for your support in advance.
best regards
fploink

For your first problem with subtitles, you're going to the wrong spot to turn them off. See: subtitles (wiki)

For your second problem, there is no problem. XBMC has been uninstalled. That error is not saying that XBMC was not uninstalled.
