Purpose gather ideas resources from xbmc community to make a Video Addon for business news junkies who like to watch CNBC / Bloomberg TV / Finance segment of any channel etc.

I don’t know how to make addons, so I hope someone who can help out

Once you start navigating the xml hierarchy you can get at the stories...

The problem is that link is going to load up an swf player. I had to snipe the address from a packetsniffer

Haven't even installed XMBC yet, ram comes in a few days ... but I would imagine there are some wrapper libraries for the rtmp. Snipping the packets might be a little tough but probably doable.

But hey I am just a dumb vba/php/javascript dev by night and wallstreet by day so what do I know

Maybe I will use this to learn me some python and get better with my ip transport knowledge.

Or instead of a full blown out add-on is it possible that someone can extract the streams from these sites so we can save them to .strm files to access?
