[Live] Frame Drops with 1 certain file.

Sad
I'm currently running the latest LIVE install of XBMC on an Asrock ION330HT.
Standard confluence skin, vdpau turned on, 4GB of RAM with 512MB dedicated to graphics.

I haven't had any problems with playing anything up until this file. Even files that by all means should be a lot more taxing on the machine.

Here is the info for the file;

As soon as I start the file it begins dropping frames at around 3 per second according to the counter in XBMC. It also shows one thread maxed out. The thing is plain unwatchable.

There are 4 other audio tracks in the file that are commentaries. I don't think that makes a difference, but thought I should mention it.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

No one has any ideas?
Is there a certain flag or something that mkv's have that tells XBMC to enable vdpau? Or is vdpau used on every file?

It just seems like VDPAU isn't being utilised with this file.

Alright done, I went in to advancedsetting.xml and set the debug log level to 2 then uploaded it to pastebin.

Here is the link Pastebin XBMC Error Log

Once I set the debug level, I rebooted the machine then went straight to my movies library and started the problematic file. Let it run for a minute or so, stopped it and then powered down the machine.

Hopefully this will help.

Not an expert but it looks like vdpau doesnt like the width of the video:

WARNING: (VDPAU) width 1876 might not be supported because of hardware bug

VDPAU is then closed

This is a hardware bug in ion, that width is not supported.

bobo1on1, do you know if this bug remains in Ion2?

I don't think it has the bug, but I'm not 100% sure.

Ion (first-generation Nvidia Ion)
Full HD decode (1080i/p): Yes, 3rd Generation PureVideo
All current third generation PureVideo hardware (G98, MCP77, MCP78, MCP79MX, MCP7A) cannot decode H.264 for the following horizontal resolutions: 769–784, 849–864, 929–944, 1009–1024, 1793–1808, 1873–1888, 1953–1968 and 2033–2048 pixel[6]

Ion 2 (next-generation Nvidia Ion)
Hardware Video Decode Acceleration: Yes, 4th Generation PureVideo
The H.264-decoder no longer suffers the framesize restrictions of VP3, and adds hardware-acceleration for MVC, a H.264 extension used on 3D Blu-ray discs.
