My experience with MCE Remote Green Button fix
#1
Hello,

I have recently (last Week) added three Windows 7 64 bit computers to my home network, each with XBMC installed. This is in an effort to cut the cable cord, so to speak. Anyway, My first XBMC computer was built 2 Christmas' ago and I used Windows 32 bit as the OS. In an effort to get XBMC to launch with the "Green Button" with my RC6 mce remotes, I used the proocedure described on this page:

It worked like a champ! Still does. However, on my new 64 bit PCs this procedure caused many problems. The context button would no longer open the context menu, it would however, start XBMC if no instance was running. Also, the Information button no longer worked. It also seemed that XBMC would start by itself if it was not running.
I had to reload the operating system 3 times before I figured this out as the system restore, would not get rid of this. Anyway, I just thought that I would let you all know of this experience to maybe save some of you some grief.
I now use the procedure desribed here:

It seems to work just fine and was real easy to install.
