[LINUX] XBMC 10.1~ppa1~lucid (Video Playback no longer works) RED BLOCK

XBMC 10.1~ppa1~lucid

XBMC was updated today through the repository. All video playback shows a RED block the size of the Video, but no video playback. Audio playback is fine. Prior to today's update, these videos had played fine in older versions of XBMC.

These videos still play fine using VLC media player.

Most videos are MP4 (AVC (x264) / AAC) video files.

I updated to 10.1 via apt this morning. The library interface works fine but when you select any video to play the application crashes and closes.

Is there any way to go back to 10.0?

I have trawled through the error logs, but no hints. I havent got it working yet :-(

Being without XBMC is tough.

As there isn't anyone suggesting any fixes I'm going to try re-installing 10.0 from source :-S

Thanks for taking a look at this.

I dont know if it helps, but I tried re-adding the repository to my sources, doing and apt-get clean and an apt-get autoremove before I reinstalled 10.1.

The Ati drivers are buggy, that's what's happening.
