Many dropped frames @ 1080p. Card should handle it
#1
Setup is

XFX Nvidia 7950 GT (supports HD 1080 by specs).
AMD X2 2.4gz. 2 gig ram (running Linux mint 64 bit).

So far it has run everything pretty much without any hic-ups, but I just tried to run full 1080p HD, and when there is a lot going on visually, frames drop like flies on shit) and CPU stays solid at 100%. I was under the impression this card supported VDPAU (it's on nvidia's list of supported cards), however every other site (non nvidia) it's not on the list. Replacing the GPU is not a big deal, however I don't want to waste $$$ unless I have to. Any thought on this? I turn on the VDPAU Setting, but it does not make a difference.

Any insight appreciated,

KTP.

Yeah like I said...nvidia had a doc listing this card as supported. Can't find the source now...oh well, most 1080 plays good, seems to be mostly this avatar version that really has drop issues.
