Hi,
I noticed the past week that i have had some issues with playback, last week i ignored it since it was a 1time thing, i thought it was the NAS going heavy.. but...
Last night i noticed that a 1h series was skipping/freezing etc 4 times on different scenes.
So i did a test with my own ubuntu 10.10 pc, i noticed that the rip wasn't the best with some sound glitches exactly where the skipping start on the HTPC.
The htpc is a,
Asus EEEBox EB1501p
NAS is a
Qnap Ts419p+
Anyway i did some more testing and realized that this started a few weeks ago so i switched kernel from 2.6.35-28 to 2.6.35-27 = no noticable difference, same skipping/freeze at the same parts.
So i went further down to, 2.6.35-25 and also to 2.6.35-22,
Now the skipping was gone, so the same clip at the exact same position just simply gives away a small click (bad rip/sound) and then just goes smooth.
I wanted to share this with you guys in hope of maybe finding something?
My setup is just a standard ubuntu 10.10 x64.
only things i have done to the HTPC is swap the hdd to a SSD and 4gb ram. with a diNovo remote.
As for software, i have only installed nvidia gfx drivers + xbmc (latest)
