[WINDOWS] - Current Build powerful enough for Win7?
#1
Hello everyone. I've been using XBMC user on Linux for about 7 months. It worked great with the VDPAU so the system load was minimal. I just bought a nice AV setup with some great speakers (Mirage Nanosat) and with my video card, I'm not able to get HDMI audio out with 5.1. I loaded it with Win7 x64 Home Premium and for the most part it works. Some 1080p videos have an issue with it stuttering. I've read mixed info. Some have said their isn't hardware acceleration in Windows XBMC while I read another thread last night that said there was. Here are the specs I'm running, is it underpowered:

ASUS M4A785-M
AMD Athlon X2 250 3.0 ghz processor
4GB DDR2 800 RAM
MSI N210-MD512H GeForce 210 512M
Antec Sonata 3 with stock PS

I read through here that disabling Aero should help. Do I also need to configure XBMC to use a different player for video playback? Thanks for the feedback.

Um, that is enough power. Tell XBMC in its settings to use DXVA.
