XVID and Divx Files Fail to Play
#1
XBMC 10.1-2
Arch Linux x64 Built March 16, 2011
Installed via Pacman from Arch Repository
All XVID/Divx encoded avi files fail to play. I get loading and then it simply stops.
Debug log http://pastebin.com/LraFptap
Kernel 2.6.37

If I download the file and attempt to play it in XBMC, the file will play normally. The failure seems to occur when I attempt to stream via XBMC. I can play the streams in VLC and Mplayer, so I'm not sure where the issue lies here. I have xvidcore 1.3.0-1 installed. The error via the log seems to be that xbmc cannot find codec parameters. Most of the files have mp3 encoded audio. Thanks!

Computer Specs:

NVIDIA GT240
Asus M4A88T-M
AMD Phenom X4 3.2GHz
2GB RAM

I decided to try the git build and see how the results compared to the version in the Arch repo. The good news is that the file played for about two seconds before xbmc crashed. I suppose that's progress from not displaying anything but an error before. Big Grin

This looks something like the bug here: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/8337

Disabling VDPAU and VAAPI and switching to software rendering allows for some of the files to work, but the large majority still fail. I imagine it will be a wait and see kind of thing, but has anyone found a temporary workaround?
