The same problem started with one of my ATV2s last night. I have been moving storage drives around so I have added and deleted movie collections several times. I changed it to static ip earlier and still had the problem.

Thanks to cyrusir for the tip, changing the scraper to imdb seems to have fixed it for now.

As of Keith's 6/18 nightly, there is no improvement in the "unable to connect" error, although it seems that his last two builds have a fix for the "crash to Front Row during library update" bug.

My ATV has always had a static IP. Scanning TV shows gives me the pop-up message about once every 30 seconds. If I hit "yes" to continue the scan, it continues just fine.

Same problem here, although I don't think the problem is with the DHCP. The TvDB returns nothing, and than I don't have the option to select anything manually, like on the Windows version of the XBMC. My movies are working now, but huge problems with the TV Shows, and interesting fact is that there are 3 shows that are always getting found, the rest just "Unable to connect to server"

The idea is that these shows are found without any problems in the Windows version of XBMC, and if it does not find the show, I have the option to select a new name, I usually delete the season info and it works, so I really think there is some bug within the TV Show searching plugin in the ported ATV2 version ... Why don't we have at least the automated search function like in the Windows version?

Later edit:

for me it is pretty clear that the problem is, that it does not generate the searchable name. In the case of Nikita S01:

09:56:52 T:145018880 M:108150784 DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: No NFO file found. Using title search for 'smb://MISI-PC-X64/F/MyMedia/TvShows/Nikita.S01.720p.HDTV.X264-TvT/'
09:56:52 T:145018880 M:108150784 DEBUG: FindMovie: Searching for 'Nikita S01' using The TVDB scraper (path: '/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/metadata.tvdb.com', content: 'tvshows', version: '1.2.3')
09:56:52 T:145018880 M:108150784 DEBUG: scraper: CreateSearchUrl returned <url>http://www.thetvdb.com/api/GetSeries.php?seriesname=nikita%20s01&amp;language=en</url>

It searches for Nikita S01 and not just Nikita, it recognizes 720p.hdtv.x264-tvt as chunk but S01 is not seen as Season 1, so it searches in title which is incorrect. And when we should get the result, there is no result and we don't have the choice to manually correct it in the windows and linux version, it just throws back the error. I'm using the 10.0.9 version on ATV2. I know correcting the folder names should correct these problems, but I don't want to manually correct automatically generated folder names.

Installing back the 10.0-7 version solves the problem, as I suspected, it gives me back my ability to choose TV show name if not found. So it is a clear bug within the new version.

How do I get ver 0.7 again? Do need revome totally the one I have, or can I just install over it?

Can I use: wget http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2/deb/org...os-arm.deb ?

THAT DINDT HELP AT ALL =(

This problem makes Xbmc 100% useless on the aTV or iPad. Since the mediaplayer (from NitoTV) does show the needed movie information. Rude but it shows.

Have u guys seen if this problem, which i also suffer from, has an impact on xbmc subtitles?

This is a big issue for me the subtitles will not load. I presume its because i cant connect to the tmdb servers and get no scrapers.

Can any confirm this is related?

Hey Guys,

I suddenly had the same problem with all my series, when trying to add new media. I solved it by renaming my folders. the folder-name "Prison Break Season 1" would cause the get scraper call in reporting an error. Renaming the folder to "Prison Break" would solve the problem.

I think it has something to do with the option to search manually in scraper when it fails. It was a feature before, now you will get the "unable to connect to remote server" error if the scraper doesnt find anything instead.

EDIT: Sorry MrMxyzptlk did not see, that you had posted the same solution.

Same problem here.... everytime I start XBMC I get the "unable to connect to remote server" pop up message,. I click "yes" to continue and it shows some more times... Any solution for this? I'm running 10.0-9.
Thanks

Here is the debug for my problem: http://pastebin.com/smQCKt4N

In short, everytime I start XBMC the message appears as I have the config to update my library on start up. Although I can play the files just fine through chosing the source, I'd like to update the library with no problems...

Any help would me much appreciated.

Thanks.
