Full Version: Can I use MCE remote power button to hibernate?

From anywhere in Kodi i would like to be able to press the power button on my MCE remote and go to S4/hibernation (preferred) or S3/sleep mode.
I can allready wake my PC up using the remote, and shutting down would up the WAF a lot and perhaps even my kids would turn the HTPC of once i a while Smile

I have tried several suggestions found online, but none seem to work for me.

I'm on windows 8.1 pro and Kodi 14.2 - Helix and use KodiLauncher. Also have the MCEremote app installed, but I have to admit that it baffles me a bit.

Any help i appreciated.
In settings using expert mode >system>power saving>shut down function>hibernate. When you hit the power button to turn off Kodi under the shutdown menu it will go hibernate, mapping the remote to that, is another issue.
If you have RC6 mce remote then use http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=164252 and set the power button to Shutdown or Sleep. Apply to registry and reboot. The shortcoming is that the shutdown menu may not pop-up in kodi. The system will immediately shutdown/sleep.
Thanks for your replys guys.

Baijuxavior's suggestion did not work for me, but led me to a thread with a lot of people with similar problems. And after reading all of the comments, I found out that I have a Streacom remote that cannot be configured through the registry (as far as i know) but only with a Streacom remote mapping software found here http://www.streacom.com/products/irrc/.
