RE: Wetek Play - Solo0815 - 2015-03-09

Put the mSD in your Wetek and the space is created by OE after booting.

RE: Wetek Play - chunky28 - 2015-03-09

thanks...I guess windows can't see it because of the way the partitions have been created. I just logged onto openelec using putty and found the following:

OpenELEC (unofficial) Version: 5.0.5
OpenELEC:~ # df -h
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 426.6M 0 426.6M 0% /dev
/dev/mmcblk0p1 255.7M 98.0M 157.7M 38% /flash
/dev/mmcblk0p2 6.9G 487.1M 6.4G 7% /storage
/dev/loop0 92.3M 92.3M 0 100% /
tmpfs 428.4M 0 428.4M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 428.4M 4.7M 423.7M 1% /run
tmpfs 428.4M 0 428.4M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
tmpfs 428.4M 4.0K 428.4M 0% /tmp
tmpfs 428.4M 224.0K 428.1M 0% /var

So I can clearly see disk space is not lost, it's still showing as 6.4GB storage.

I've not had the wetek/openelec for long so not discovered how i can use this space for recording tv etc.

Are there any tutorials on it or is it a case of tinkeringHuh

All bu default, press recording button at RCU and files of recording will be saved to /storage/recordings

When you insert microsd in PC you only see small 256 mb partition where is stored SYSTEM and kernel. Other partition is ext* and not visible by Windows.

RE: Wetek Play - mr.Gru - 2015-03-11

I'm no active windows user but i used this tool in the past to access ext* on windows

RE: Wetek Play - chunky28 - 2015-03-12

thanks techspaces.....managed to record and noticed it going to the storage area. need to play with the record settings though because it didn't record full screen.

I presume I would need a decent sized USB external hard disk if I wanted to use the PVR ( recording TV) functionality? Can anyone give me an example of what size of HDD is working for them.

Also excuse my ignorance but does openelec support Skype and most webcams?

Well you can connect almost any USB HDD drive or you can use some NAS for recording.

OpenELEC dont have support for Skype. Skype you can use under Android.

Thank you for the info droidelec.

RE: Wetek Play - thebearnecessit - 2015-03-19

W previous poster mentioned his external USB HDD wasn't working in android. It needed a powered hub in. The end. I'm going to buy an external external USB HDD. Is there any way I can make sure I buy one that works? For example one that requires less power or something.
