And when I select a new thumb/fanart from what the scrapper gives me, it doesn't change in the launcher. When I go in the folder where that thumb/fanart is located, it's there...just not loading in Advanced Launcher. That's not normal. Do you have this problem with all your thumbs or fanart images? I wil try to found time to check this problem on my side. Maybe last versions of Advanced Launcher have bring some little bugs... Which option do you exactly use to change the thumbs or fanart images :
Dr.Know Wrote:I am using <useddsfanart> in advancedsettings.xml....would that need to be disabled?I'm not sure it is related. You can try to make the switch and see if it affect the caching system... - mrdos - 2011-05-19 Where can i download this? .. nevermind i see it in your sig - Dr.Know - 2011-05-19 Angelscry Wrote:That's not normal. Which option do you exactly use to change the thumbs or fanart images : I don't have this issue with my movie thumbs/fanart...only advanced launcher. I use the "import from" option. It was working fine about 2-3 weeks ago when I setup my NES roms...now when I'm setting up my SNES roms I'm having this issue. Was advanced launcher updated recently? If so, I think there's a bug... - butchabay - 2011-05-19 Games Logo Rightlist View for upcoming release cirrus extended v2 - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 butchabay Wrote:Games Logo Rightlist View for upcoming release cirrus extended v2Woua... Thank you very much butchabay. Those games logo images have to be saved into a specific directory (if so, witch one?) or they are included into Cirrus Extended skin? - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 Dr.Know Wrote:Was advanced launcher updated recently? If so, I think there's a bug...Yes.. 3 minor updates (bug fixing) in the last 3 weeks. I will try to reproduce your error on my system (actually XBMC Dharma version on Linux and XBMC pre-Eden version on Windows 7 do not have this bug). Could you also post your xbmc.log file just after trying to import a thumb or a fanart image? If something gone wrong, the log file must contain an error or a warning message. - atsumori - 2011-05-19 I've been playing around with Advanced Launcher a lot lately so I thought I'd share what I've come up with. First, it bothered me that PC games wasn't under it's own launcher (of course, since it's not an emulator). If this bothers anyone else, this is how you get around it: 1) Create a folder with shortcuts to each of your games 2) Create a batch a batch file that launches anything passed to it as an argument (argument is %1). 3) In Advanced Launcher, set the emulator as the batch file, the rom file type as shortcuts, and the rom folder as wherever you made the folder with your shortcuts. From there you can do an automatic scan and add games like you would a rom (just add a shortcut with the game's name to the shortcut folder). I also made a logo to go with Angelscry's set: I also needed some MAME/Arcade icons for my setup which you guys are free to use. They aren't my best work but it beats having no logo. If this bothers anyone else, this is how you get around it:Advanced Launcher normally natively support windows shortcuts files to start PC games or any other windows application. When you create a launcher and indicate .lnk files as extension, Advanced Launcher will automatically recognize that it is a shortcut and start the related application. http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=File_shortcuts atsumori Wrote:I also made a logo to go with Angelscry's set:Thank you to share with us your additional logo. - atsumori - 2011-05-19 Oh swish, that's good to know! Thanks for the heads up! - butchabay - 2011-05-19 @Angelscry Yeah the logos are in the extras folder, but the idea is to localize them in game path folder which is in cirrus extended skin settings. The Logos are taken from Kisuan's Night purity as he was the first having this great idea! There are just 5 or 6 Logos at the moment, but surely growing if simeone has the skills to create such great clearart logos. Also big changes overall in cirrus extended v2 which i'm working on every free minute. So stay tuned and watch out in the cirrus thread the next few days. - danz0l - 2011-05-19 ok trying to get mame to work on xbmclive. I have installed sdlmame through its unofficial repositories following this guide http://sdlmame.wallyweek.org/repository/ Setup rom paths etc and launcher launches the game, mame starts to load the rom, gets to 100% then quits and returns back to xbmc. What am i doing wrong ? - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 danz0l Wrote:ok trying to get mame to work on xbmclive. Cirrus Extended is the skin that actually run on my HTPC system. I think I will also try to found time to wrote a small tutorial to explain how use the Extra fanart path value of Advanced Launcher with Night purity and Cirrus Extended skins. Maybe it will encourage other skinner to do the same. - danz0l - 2011-05-19 Angelscry Wrote:Mame needs that you indicated into its mame.ini file where are located the roms like below : Where would mame.ini be located for sdlmame ? In /home/xbmc/.mame i only have ./mame/cfg/default.cfg ./mame/cfg/empty.cfg I tried creating a mame.ini in that directory but it didnt seem to make a difference. Metal Slug 5 is loading (its counting up 100%) then quiting. - Angelscry - 2011-05-19 danz0l Wrote:Where would mame.ini be located for sdlmame ? What you could do is to copy the /etc/sdlmame/mame.ini into $HOME/.mame/ and then modifiy the $HOME/.mame/mame.ini file. |
