hentai23 Wrote:hmmmmm....looks interesting

now all we need is for you to make it so that when i scrape lets say a series folder called the darkness , and it contains several different folders of the darkness like volume 1 , 2 etc

in in thos are the comic files , some named

The_Darkness_93__2011___noads___Tarutaru_

The_Darkness_91_(2011)_(Digimortal)

stuff like that and it to correctly scrape those with the best info

and then get the correct fanart and thumbs for that
Advanced Launcher use items filename to scrap information. If your items (or in your case comics) are not named correctly the scraper will not be able to automatically scrap them. It is not only related to Advanced Launcher, but it is the same for most of all the movies or more specifically to TV show scrapers. For TV show scrapers, if the season or episode number do not appear correctly the scraper will not be able to detect it. That's the same for Advanced Launcher with issue numbers. For example in your case:
  • "___noads___Tarutaru_" and "(Digimortal)" appear to be non essential and not related comic or issue information. How a scrapper could detect that these information are usefull or not.
  • "2011" and "(2011)" are release year information, but here again are not necessary information. These information can be obtained from the scraper data.
  • "The_Darkness_93" are "The_Darkness_91" are comics and issue number. They are the minimum necessary information to identify a comic issue. The problem in your case is that the comic and the issue number are not clearly separated. The underscore character that separate comic title and issue number also appears into comic title. A scraper will not be able to separate those 2 informations, moreover if you hare unnecessary information at the end of the filemane or if the comic title have numerical characters.
Your files must be named The Darkness #93 and The Darkness #91 to be correctly identified by Advanced Launcher an ComicVine database.

hentai23 Wrote:now that would help me alot , since i got a shit ton of comics and if youd have a shit ton of comics youd see it the same way bro ,itd be impossible to sort all of those an rename them as you mentioned , itd take me 1 year without sleep if youd calculate the time -.-', we gotta get this more sophisticated bro !!
I know it could take time to rename your large collection of comics, but, that was a thing that you have must do initially. There is some batch renaming applications that exist to help you into this task. If you are not a minimum organized into you comic collecting, that's not the goal of Advanced Launcher to do it at your place. Like I have a lot of time write here, Advanced Launcher is an application launcher not a roms or a comics manager.

hentai23 Wrote:and theres gotta be an option released to be able to scan a comics folder with its series contained and then launchers being auto created for each series in the comics folder with its cbr./cbz extensions as preset
Thats manager tasks not a launcher tasks. Advanced Launcher will never modify, copy or rename roms or comics files.

hentai23 Wrote:I hope you understand this and i hope i can count on you bro if you have some of youre precious time to spare , i know this isnt easy work but what to do you made me a adv junky and yes i use it for all and everything thats the beauty of it
I understand your point of view, but Advanced Launcher will never manage you items at your place.

hentai23 Wrote:for games , for comics for all it just needs some tweaking on the comics side xD, oh btw the games scraper for info could be abit better some games even thou named exactly as the official name doesnt get picked up by thegamesdb or allgames is there a better one?,hmmmm.....
Just explain me how you correctly scrap a game or comic info from a file if it filename did not contain exact information on what you are going to scrap?? I'm really really curious.

The only other ways I know to scrap data from media files without using filename is to use meta-tags (like for MP3 files) or md5checksum values. For meta-tags, it just displace the problem, because if the meta-tags are not set correctly, you will also have to do it manually. For md5checksum values, you must first have a database that have this information. It could be possible for roms files (like MAME for example), but will be not possible to apply to comics (with are at the start not digital media).

For the batch renamers, that's a long time I did not use some but I think Ant Renamer (http://www.antp.be/software/renamer) will do the job.

Angelscry Wrote:That's a common problem. When you start an application from XBMC that change the screen resolution, when you return back to XBMC this resolution is not always restored. You can try several things :
  • Try to setup XBMC, Windows and ScummVM with the same screen resolution. If you are able to do this, it will solve your problem.
  • You can also try to use an intermediate script that will close XBMC before starting ScummVM, and that will restart XBMC when ScummVM will be closed. You will found such kind of script description here : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=6
  • Other possibility is to write an intermediate script that will use a windows application (like Display Changer : http://www.12noon.com/displaychanger.htm) which will change the screen resolution before restoring XBMC.

i want to use 12noon to restore my xbmc resolution when i exit the game but i dont know how to make such a script, i tried everything i know but no luck.

Help someone?

rom files - vader74 - 2011-10-16

Angelscry Wrote:Emulators configuration are avaliable on the Advanced Launcher dedicated WIKI pages : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page

Version 1.6.0 and 1.7.0 of Project64 do not manage command line parameters with the same manner. The wiki page description (http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Project64) is for the free version of Project64 (version 1.6.0). To use the version 1.7.0, you need to modify the launcher argument from %rom% to "%rom%"

For your second problem, the automatic and semi-automatic data/thumbs/fanarts scraping ONLY occurs when you add NEW items. If you have already added some items (without any data/thumbs/fanarts) you need to remove them from your launcher list (clear items list option), select the right data/thumbs/fanarts scrapers into Advanced Launcher settings, and then select the Add new items to import all.

Thanks a lot that worked!

I'm trying to get an emulator (MAME) up and running by following the instructions in the wiki - however, when I click File Launcher and try to browse to an emulator, only one of my network shares show up and none of my local drives. This problem persists even when I've added the root of my C:\ drive as a source under Programs. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

After the files launcher creation, you need to go to the "Add items" menu option of the launcher (using "C" key) to add items to the launcher (using manual or automatic method). What do you mean by "Ok button"?

That's a XBMC bug. And I have now way to fix this from Advanced Launcher. If you already have added you C:\ drive as source, try to remove any CD/DVD rom or any mounted ISO images from your system. It normally will show you back your local drive

- vader74 - 2011-10-16

yes i have done that
when you go to add
and the folder tree pops up on the right of the screen

it only shows empty folders
and no files in them

the ok button does not hi-light

Adbanced Launcher Problem - toretorden - 2011-10-16

I have a problem with my Advanced Launcher. Today, I noticed all my games were gone! When I click Games from the Home Menu, this is what I see :

Image

Basically nothing!

I've tried renaming/deleting launchers.xml in %appdata%\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\addon_data\plugin.program.advanced.launcher, but it didn't seem to have any effect. It all just looks broken at the moment. I could try to reinstall I guess, but a repair would be even better so that hopefully, I won't have to re-add every game!

Any ideas?

Deleting the launchers.xml file is REALLY the last thing to do. Because this file contain ALL the launchers and games information for Advanced Launcher. If you have effectively delete it... you have lost everything.

If there is no launchers.xml file present, Advanced Launcher must ask you to create a new launcher (stand-alone or file launcher). If it is not the case, the problem must come from elsewhere. Are you sure it was not initially a skin related problem?

Not sure where to post this as it may be a general XBMC issue, but I think this may be the best place to start.

I have "show plot for unwatched items" = OFF which I really want to keep because I hate reading something before I watch the movie/show that ruins it.

When I am in Advanced Launcher I want the descriptions of the games (I use it for emulators) but I get the "Hidden to Prevent Spoilers"

Within music it still shows the information for the artist. Is there something I can do within Programs or Advanced Launcher to show the description of the game/emulator? I can't find a way to mark it as 'Watched'

Thank you.
I am using Windows, Dharma, Aeon Nox skin, InfoWall View.

(Pictures are from my test machine - just loaded a couple things to show what I mean)
