Thing is you're running boxee as root which is not good, also doesn't work on windows I need to clear up my mind on what does sudo -u does, I'll do some tests and let you know - fr500 - 2011-01-18 Nevermind, sudo -u impersonates another user I guess it's safe. The only thing is that the preferences will be stored under the other user's home. - -SPK- - 2011-01-18 TheHazel3yes Wrote:I just wanted to say that Night is an excellent skin for ALA users as it has integrated ALA support (at least in the recent versions), but see it yourself: Where are get the thumbs/poster for roms and plattaforms?? Thx in advance - TheHazel3yes - 2011-01-18 For consoles I made the thumbs and fanart myself (little work in any photo editor) and for roms ALA did all the work for me. - TheHazel3yes - 2011-01-18 pinkybreak Wrote:Would you consider adding support for trailers in a future release? Isn't that something that belongs to RCB more than to ALA? ALA does what it's supposed to do pretty great now, I'd say. - spong_miester - 2011-01-18 This might seem trivial but, Where does the program store the info about games? I am scraping my games at work and would like to know if i could copy the info to my home PC....... - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 fr500 Wrote:Nevermind, sudo -u impersonates another user I guess it's safe. The only thing is that the preferences will be stored under the other user's home.If the user indicated by the sudo -u command is the actual user, preferences will be stored in the right place. The sudo -u user app give the super user privileges to "user" user to start the "app" application. It is safe because super user privileges are only restricted to the app. - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 -SPK- Wrote:Where are get the thumbs/poster for roms and plattaforms?? For games/roms, the Advanced launcher do the job. For platforms it depends your taste, your skin, etc... But you can do it using the thumbs and fanarts ALA Google scrapers. - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 spong_miester Wrote:This might seem trivial but, Where does the program store the info about games? - spong_miester - 2011-01-18 Thank You Angelscry!!!!!! Just an idea but would it be possible in a future release to add the info for games as say.. an .nfo file in the actual game directory? And thanks for this great program - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 pinkybreak Wrote:Hello Angelscry, great looking mod spong_miester Wrote:Thank You Angelscry!!!!!!I think this XBMC add-on will more corresponds to your wishes : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=70115 As I have already said a lot of time Advanced Launcher is an Application Launcher not a Rom manager. - htpc guy - 2011-01-18 2 questions
Thanks - ECEC - 2011-01-18 Anyone know why quitting Nestopia doesn't return to XBMC and seems to lock up XBMC in the process? I haven't been able to generate a log file yet, but will soon. - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 htpc guy Wrote:What are the best Emus for Ubuntu Lucid. I'm using Medenfan and ZSnes. Both play the games rather well but the sound is terrible. Are there alternitives that feature better sound? Some users report here that Bsnes is a good SNES emulator under Linux. I have tested it on my system (but not Ubuntu) and made the corresponding Wiki page here : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Bsnes#Linux htpc guy Wrote:I have 2 PSX games, FF VII and Metal Gear Solid, that have multiple discs. Is there any way it can be set to show it like a movie set. I.E. Shows one time in the library and then when selected it will take you to another view showing just the 3 seperate discs. (I hope that's clear).Yes that clear. It could be effectively a good idea. I just have to check how this functionality is managed from XBMC and maybe also from the skin. - Angelscry - 2011-01-18 ECEC Wrote:Anyone know why quitting Nestopia doesn't return to XBMC and seems to lock up XBMC in the process?
