When I install the latest XBMC it works fine. Next time I start it, it crashes after startup. I deleted & reinstalled twice with the same result.

Should be a log in roaming/xbmc might give a hint, usually this is a video issue.

Perhaps delete the entire C:\Users\Whatever_name\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\roaming folder..re-install.

Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging, and restart XBMC then wait a minute or two for all the startup tasks to finish. Try and play a video and wait for XBMC to crash. If it doesn't crash do whatever messing about it necessary until it crashes.

Now open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

Could it have something to do with Shockwave? That keeps crashing in my browser.
