I use a Dell Latitude D630 running the 12.0 Frodo_rc3 software. I have an external hard drive with roughly 1TB of movies. I can add thumbnails to the movies if they are located on the actual laptop but not if they are on the external hard drive.

Is there a way to add thumbnails to movies located on an external hard drive?

XBMC does not care if they are external drives or not. I assume you are adding videos to the library (wiki)?
