Looks like it uses the same player ID as video files player and Player.GetProperties/Player.GetItem does not say anything about PVR.
How can I check if PVR is playing TV stream?
I am using IPTVSimple if that changes anything.

Player.GetItem should return an item with the "type" property set to "channel" IIRC.
