v17 No high quality deinterlacing with nvidia card
#1
Hi I'm using windows 10 pro with a nvidia geforce gtx 960
With kodi 17 there is a regression in the quality of deinterlacing. It seems like kodi uses only Bob for deinterlacing whereas kodi 16.1 was much better.
If DXVA2 in the Settings -- Player settings is switched off, i can choose Deinterlace method: Deinterlace which is much better.

here a log with good kodi 16:

here the log with not so good kodi 17.1:

edit:
change title from No high quality deinterlacing with nvidia gtx 960 to No high quality deinterlacing with nvidia card
change log from Kodi 17 beta2 to 17.1

Kodi 17 (as Kodi 16) doesn't select deinterlacing method with dxva renderer. The driver selects method automacality. Kodi may only switch deinterlacing on or off.

I aslo didn't see any issues in your logs.

Update:
The issue is still there in the final releases of Kodi 17.0 and 17.1
debug log: https://pastebin.com/DyvegCrv

It seems that several nvidia cards are affected

Gtx 960: mine and 302640 (thread)
Gtx 1060:312850 (thread)
gt710:302502 (thread)

Probably more models have this issue.

I wrote to nvidia several weeks ago but did not receive an answer yet.
