Aeon freezes XBMC

I'm pretty new to XBMC, but I have it working on my Vista machine (core 2 duo @ 2.0 GHz with 2GB RAM). I'm currently using MediaStreamer, which runs fine. I wanted to try out Aeon, so I downloaded and installed 0.91 STARK.

However, I am able to do very little in Aeon without freezing XBMC. First, Aeon froze while transitioning to the second slide in the introductory slide show. After restarting XBMC, I tried to navigate the menu into the Movies and TV Show categories. Both actions froze XBMC. Even trying to enter the Settings menu caused it to freeze.

Any ideas? Is there something that I could have set up wrong? Or can my machine simply not handle Aeon? (Like I said, MediaStreamer runs great)

1) Which XBMC version / SVN build are you using?
2) I´d suggest to try out a mod because Aeon Original is not 100% finished.

Thanks for the reply temmi. I tried Aeon65, and was actually able to get into my TV Shows menu, but XBMC froze after about 2-3 seconds. After restarting, I was also able to get into my Movies menu - again, XBMC froze after 2-3 seconds. This is repeatable, and it does not seem to make a difference whether I just enter a menu and sit there, or enter the menu and begin to flip through videos. Either way, XBMC seems to always freeze a few seconds after changing menus.

I'm using XBMC 9.04.1 repack 2

My Aeon65 installation procedure:
* extract Aeon_091STARK_FULL.zip to the skins directory
* extract temmi2000-aeon-51c1c55.zip, and copy the contents into the skins\Aeon directory, replacing old files
* extract fonts.rar into the skins\Aeon directory, replacing old files
* select the skin in the XBMC Appearance menu.

Thanks so much for your help! Aeon65 looks really nice, so I hope I can get it to work on my machine.

Update... I discovered that XBMC is not actually freezing - it is crashing. This is only apparent when running in Windowed mode.
