Hi,
I am trying to build a htpc for my main TV. It will run ubuntu 10.10 and on top of it xbmc pvr branch.
I been reading a lot of threads, but i am a bit confused...

- Acer Revo ---model??'
-Zotac zbox ---model??
-EEEbox -- model??

I will add a QBOX2 USB DVB-S2 TV Box for dvb-s2 dish capture.

So, I do not want anything "top gun", but also nothing too cheap. Really want some decent performance without being the best of the best...

my advise would be a Acer Aspire Revo 3610...
Perfomance is pretty nice, maybe put 2GB more RAM in it...

I bought one of these last year and I don´t wanna miss it, ever...

AFAIK the Acer is one of the cheapest...

I have the same setup as mad-max, and I highly recommend it. Currently using the skin Alaska Revisited.

What about zotac? There seems to be a lot of users using it..? Cheaper or more expensive?

pvr with intel atom? I'm not sure at all if this would be you best choice... Probably you'll be much beter with an I3 unit, but let's wait to see what poofy has to say here.

PVR will work with a ION system, but I would at least get an ION2 system for extra GPU deinterlacing power. So something with a next gen ION.

With Windows PVR you need an i3 or better.
