That build is gotham + pulseaudio. I just had it at hand.

last output in debug log when it freeze is AE related, then exactly 10 seconds later this pops up

DEBUG: ffmpeg[85026700]: 0.707107

don't know if it's interesting, will try the openelec now.

I still have the freeze in OpenELEC.

I have same problem on that openelec build, I didn't do any settings, so I had no sound. I assume VAAPI is on by default. Gui frooze and I had to press reset.

KRA77: freeze gone, when you start with: AE_SINK=ALSA on your arch.

Btw. alexktz does not have PA at all. But let's try.

Here is my log file from openelec when it froze. (Was able to killall -9 and it was OK again via ssh).

@alexktz: It's fine :-) Just continue testing.

Can I gdb or equivalent via openelec for you?
#54
"AE_SINK=ALSA xbmc"

from terminal - still freeze

Update, I have lost passthrough audio now, because of the above command ? A reboot didn't help

Also during my now hunt for sound I noticed turning passthrough off while playing also invoke the freeze, but again, it works fine when run through gdb.
#56
Jep, that freeze we already know :-)

the command above uses pure ALSA when running xbmc. PulseAudio is not used. You should be able to return when starting the next time without it.

Is should a keyword ? Because I reboot and still no passthrough sound Big Grin

EDIT, sound is back, another reboot and it's a go

What's the GDB equivalent for openelec? I'll do anything to get you that thread output, this is a showstopper for me atm.

No, it works. I have tested it. Check your guisettings.xml if something has been left that looks like ALSA: something

I just noticed something. Although the last frame freeze when video playback is finished xbmc gui does not crash at this point, I still have full gui operation. Although as soon as I click stop or in some way invoke a stop (like opening a new file) the gui freeze.

Ofcourse neither this can be reproduced when run with gdb

EDIT: Actually I can also invoke seeking when it's stuck on last frame, or the gui part of it, it doesn't seek in the file, just the gui dropdown in top right corner updates.

These distro limited bugs sure are fun.
