Keep in mind that nVidia control panel version number is not the same as file/download version number

Wow, whatever you're doing is definitely working afedchin!  Just tried that test build you linked and without having to add discretedecoder into AdvancedSettings, everything is buttery smooth now.  Tested with 1080p x264 and 4k HEVC, all 23.976 fps with my TV set to sync refresh rate and confirmed at 24Hz.  Driver version 417.35 here.

Yes, I know Smile In HTPC-world the latest driver is not necessarily the best one.

My bad, I've been running old drivers the last 7-8 months without knowing it, for some unknown reason my driver installations have not installed correctly the last 4-5 updates even though it looked like a succesful driver installation. Clean install and driver version in the control panel match up with file version.

x265 files works perfectly with newest driver (417.71)

Need a new log afedchin?

Could you double-check by running the same video and press 'CTRL-SHIFT-O', and look at the "misses" value? The video is displayed fine here on my GT1030, but the misses counter is going up very fast.
It's the only mystery at the moment. I only have a PC monitor here, I don't have my Nvidia setup connected to a proper TV.

Thanks.

Seems you have Sync playback to display enabled. Disable it.

Tested with the latest driver 417.71 and yes, HEVC-files plays also correctly Smile I admit guys, time to update my one-year-old GPU-driver Smile

What can I say, has Kodi ever played these tested video files this smoothly... This test build is absolutely stellar execution from @afedchin Smile

Thanks.

10 minutes in and not a single drop or skip, playback is flawless.
