So I am running XBMC Frodo RC1 on Windows 7. I am using an NVIDIA GTX470 to connect HDMI to my Amp/Receiver.
Here are the settings that do not work for movies:
Audio Output: HDMI
Audio output device: DirectSound: HDMI - TX-NR717 (NVIDIA High Def Audio)
Passthrough output device: DirectSound: HDMI - TX-NR717 (NVIDIA High Def Audio)
The above settings cause movies to lag horribly and play no sound. Likely because it cannot audio sync. My Amp also notices the signal is bad and goes into no mode. If I play music, like a FLAC file then it works even in HDMI mode. Very odd.
All I have to do is change Audio Output to Optical/Coax and it works. Everything works with movies in optical/coax, DTS, DolbyD, etc. The weird part is I don't have any optical devices plugged in. The optical port on my PC is empty. The only connection to my Amp is the HDMI cable.
I've tried all combinations of settings. I do not understand.
I have some reasons I'd like to fix this (192KHZ is one). Is there an explanation for this or a fix?
