LOL - looking at the video again. They seem to use kodi, right? Should have tried the DX11 rewrite by afedchin ... yeah, we don't know really.

It's not about the output, as I talked about "downscaling" above. I decode 4k@60p and watch it at 1080 60hz, just to test the decoding performance.

hi10p ... anime was never meant for the masses - the scene chose it, so that average users cannot watch it ... in order to save some 100 MB ...
Better get a core i7 with 32 gb memory - if your primary use case is hi10p ...
i will test those ... always remember: if you have 2 cores and run windows, the very moment the virus scanner acts up or the file indexer ... it's not watchable anymore, same on linux if some background processes shortly need more oomph ...

Hi10P is not my primary use case, most times it's possible to find 8-bit encodes but others it's either impossible or a pain in the back side. Having some Hi10P support would be nice in order to save some time.
