Edit: So I finally fixed that by clearing the cache. But now I have another issue..no matter what, Kodi will not scrape Adele/Artist..no clue why..she's clearly found on the db. Someone mentioned making nfo files but I haven't quited figured that out yet.

Sadly, music scraping in Kodi is still more art than science. I use Media Companion to generate .nfo files for movies and TV show and it works perfectly almost every single time. Music requires quite a bit more effort. Once you do finally get everything in the way you like you'll want .nfo files in case you ever have to resinstall. Here's what I've found works fairly well for me.

• Rip the CD using whatever tool you like (dBpoweramp for me).
  
• Clean up the tags with MusicBrainz Picard. https://picard.musicbrainz.org/
  
• Import into MediaElch. http://www.kvibes.de/en/mediaelch/
  
• Select each artist and album one at a time and have MediaElch look up the data.
  
• It can be a little picky about naming of artists and titles and even then it won't always find what you're searching for.
  
• Fill in the blanks manually using Google image search and AllMusic.
  
• Once you get each entry the way you want it, save it to generate the .nfo file.
  

It's a little bit of a pain but not nearly as bad as it sounds. You soon get into a rhythm and it will go fairly quickly.

For most newer rock/pop this works extremely well. For older popular music you'll start to see more gaps (no ratings, album reviews, photos, etc.). Jazz is kind of hit and miss on whether it will be found or not. Classical music is basically a nightmare and mostly has to be filled in manually.

Thanks for this guide. Great to have a detailed post. I don't even really use music that much on my PC or my HTPC but I thought about starting to add stuff in...good for parties or chill mode. I will try your suggestion tonight. No clue why ADELE of all people can't be scraped in.

I wonder why they just didn't do the same thing to music as they did to TV and Movies, (ie) by folder naming, would be much easier if you could just put fanart, logos etc etc into the folder manually!?

I've been using Kodi for a couple of years now, and have just upgraded to MQ 6 from 5. There's a couple of little issues that have been going on for a while that I can't work out, wondered if anyone had any ideas:

- films and TV use TMDb scraper, however the TV details don't seem to ever update if I add details on the TMDb website (episode details etc.). I've updated films on the site and they work fine after a few hours or so.

- most of my files are MKVs, but I've got a few older M4Vs on there. The M4Vs always default to subtitles, even though the files aren't set to subtitle by default. How can I stop this?

I cannot update to 3.3.0 it says dependencies not met. The same goes for the script.extendedinfo. Does anyone have any tricks to fix this?

I've checked my log and it seems require xbmc.python version 2.24.0. What do I need to do?

@sjobbels, xbmc.python is native kodi, don´t need install..

Remember skin MQ6 is only for Isengard. For Isengard version xbmc.python is 2.20.0, version 2.24.0 is for Kodi Jarvis.

I verify, script cu lrclyrics version 3.2.0 for Isengard, need xbmc.python version 2.19.0, it´s ok for Isengard.

I have a weird issue: no media info (codec, bluray/dvd, resolution and more) till i play the movie.
After i played it, even 1 sec and then came back to list view, i see the media info of movie i played.
Where is the issue?
I have tried to change scraper but without success.
