You can try this alternative addon for Viki, if you currently have a problems with the current.

it's been awhile since I updated this addon so I decided to add couple of feature to the addon.

1. you can now view the Timed Comments that viki.com is popular for. You can enable/disabled this in the addon setttings but it's enabled by default. If you are having problems with it you can disable it.
2. I added the 720p video quality to the videos that have it. (borrowed link from Majide )

Hi DKnight it's great to see you back. I have seen you upgraded viki and 720p is great, but I can't get the subtitles to work. I have tried changing the subtitle language and uninstalling and reinstalling the addon Please help. Thanks

Yeah I also upgraded to 1.1.38 and cannot get subtitles to work either. The only way I got subs to work for the last couple months is by using Julio's unofficial update. I just tried using Majide's alternative and the layout was great, but could not get any of the videos to play. Glad you're finally back dknight!

I made a slight change on how it loads the subtitle. Let me know if you can see the subtitles now. If you see the subs but don't see the timed comments, which appears in yellow at the top, please post the kodi.log so I can confirm that the issue is what I suspect.

I also fixed the timing issue with the timed comments. Since some video has so many comments I randomly filter the comments so that it doesn't take up the entire screen.

thanks scott for pointing this out. I couldn't reproduce the issue so it would have taken me a while to figure it out. After you pointed out the issue I was able to reproduce it on a different device and the suggestion did seem to fix the problem. I pushed update 1.1.40. Anyone who was having the issue with the subtitles and timed comments please let me know if this fixes it for you as well

Hey DKnight, the subtitles and the timed comments finally work, When I was playing the video, the timed comments at the top appeared in Yellow, which is what I set my subtitle color to be. However, the subtitles on the bottom appear white and a little translucent. But I was able to fix the issue by disabling the timed comments in the addon settings and the subtitles went back to being yellow. Just thought you should know. Thank you Dknight, appreciate it man.. Keep up the good work.
