Release Hulu
#61
its for users in USA who want to get local channels for a different area.
it doesn't bypass any geo-lock.

greetings @matthuisman

i have a feature request....

would you have any inclination to expand your addons to use "medialibraryscanpath" and allow certain addon content to be scanned directly into a kodi library?

as it is already, i export the items as .strm so i have the content in my library anyway but with quite a few more steps than if it were supported by the addon directly

Local channels play fine, 'cable' channels are hit or miss in terms of freezing after anywhere from 30 seconds to ~3 minutes.

I would appreciate any feedback on this.

I am now getting "The below addons are old and must be updated to use this add-on" - SlyGuy Commom (0.61.8) - But I do not see how to get the update.

Settings do not show an update option, Information does not show an update option either.

Thank you in advance for assistance.

https://www.matthuisman.nz/2021/07/force...d-ons.html

all my addons now require them to be automatically updated.
this saves me time in future when people are running old versions and opening issues

Automatic updates enabled, plus upgraded to stable Kodi Nexus 20.1.

'Cable' channels still freezing after anywhere from ~15 seconds to a few minutes.

if you look back in this thread, this same issue has been reported for a long, long time now.  as far as i understand things, the issue is caused by ad breaks, and a fix is needed in inputstream.adaptive, not this plugin.  looking at the issues logged in the inputstream.adaptive github project, my best guess is that this is the issue tracking the bug.  @matthuisman should be able to confirm if this the case

I can't recall if Hulu is hls or dash.
I think it's dash so I hope this recently merged PR will fix https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.adaptive/pull/1175
No IA has been released with it yet, but builds for it are available on kodis Jenkins

Thanks for the clarification.  Some quick googling suggests that Hulu uses dash, so this fix could be promising.  I noticed the fix was merged into the Omega branch -- does this mean I would have to update to Kodi Omega in order to test a release with this fix?  Or if I'm patient enough, will it be backported to a version of IA that is still compatible with Matrix?

"Mark as Watched" functionality doesn't work? not implemented?

i guess this is the first time i've tried to use this, it simply refreshes the content but does not mark anything as watched

if not implemented, it should be easy to send to hulu a resume timestamp at the end of the video? since you're syncing resume states with hulu anyway...

-----

and since im posting, would it be possible to ignore resume states of less than 5 seconds, it's rather un-useful for it to ask me to resume at 00:00:03 - maybe a percentage can be considered, if time < 0.05% or 0.1% set resume to 0 (or remove resume)

To be clear, the symptoms I'm experiencing are on a Win7 box.  Unfortunately I'm not a coder so I don't know how to interpret or implement the above posts.

Also, I get errors about old addon that must be updated, but auto-updates is turned on?

And thanks for responding to my questions, really hoping this works - WAF depends on it!  Thanks!
