well wondering if Kodi team is working on this or is this another board they wont give out driver source so support will be bad because of it

Rockchip SoC's haven't been all that great in the past for Kodi & local media playback, while AMLogic, RPi and other have done better. With this, specs look impressive. Not seeing anything on HDR, 10+; don't expect DV or 3D. What about HD/object-based audio?

There has been some third party work on RK3588 class devices, of which there are many.  It will more likely be a side project perhaps part of LibreELEC, since for Linux Team Kodi only supports Ubuntu builds.  For Ubuntu on this device it will take more than a good compile of the source to playback well.
