Does XBMC support SMB2 shares or just SMB1? I couldn't really find anything online that clarifies SMB2 support in libsmbclient so not sure where XBMC stands.
Assuming libsmbclient doesn't support SMB2, I would imagine I could use local windows mapped smb drives instead?
Thanks,
Seoras.

It's up to your libsmbclient version. Experimental SMB2 support was added in samba 3.5.0 .. AFAIK.

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
To clarify, xbmc uses host smb support now right? The built in methods were depreciated from what I understand, so as long as the native windows smb client supports smb2 xbmc should as well?
Thanks,
Seoras.
