I am interested in using the MYSQL setup for my Library, so I can sync everything between multiple boxes. I have Mythbuntu running on a separate PC now.... can I just add the XBMC database to the MYSQL running on that unit, or will that break the Mythtv databases? I would prefer not to have to run a 2nd copy of MYSQL if possible.

If you have a PC setup running MySQL that allows for connections from other computers, you can use that for XBMC. You'll want the XBMC tables to be in a seperate 'database', but it can all live on the same database server.

Thanks a lot.. that was the answer I was hoping for. I was just a little concerned about borking my MythTV database.

It's common and perfectly safe to run multiple databases from a single server. You'll be fine
