I'd love to be able to stream off my Synology NAS from outside my network.... I have a dynamic dns through a free online provider, but so far I haven't been able to access my NAS..... Do you have to use a numerical IP address or is there a way to enter an address like "abcd.abcd.org" ?

Check your router for "dynamic DNS" with a service like dynsns.org or no-ip.com you're able to translate a dns name to your dynamic IP.
