KNX automation in XBMC
#1
hello,
I have in mind an idea for a couple of years, make a part of xbmc to knx automation, in order to interact and control home automation.
Unfortunately my lack of familiarity with the programming stops me and so I decided to make public my idea that you can achieve with existing programs completely open source.
I shall now explain what I learned:
All this is based on an open source program called LINKNX and eibd.
Eibd deals with the connection between the plant and knx linknx that is configured and checks the status of the system through an XML file (for this I imagine that there are few difficulties to implement it in XBMC).
At the time I was able to make simple buttons that control the lights.
As I already said I'm not a programmer, but I have a good familiarity with KNX (I'm an installer partner), and eibd linknx.
If someone wants to take up this challenge and finally put an impact and open source home automation for knx, I will be happy to contribute for the side knx, and eibd linknx.
I hope to arouse interest even by some guru xbmc that would give his opinion about the actual feasibility and difficulty of this achievement.

In the end I apologize for my bad English. Eek
