Choppy playback after resuming from sleep, any ideas how to cure?
#1
Hi,

I run win 7 32bit on my htpc. When not in use I put it to sleep, I do this from within xbmc menu. When I resume the PC and go to play something the playback is a little choppy. You only tend to notice it when a shot is panning, so it isn't really choppy. As soon as I shut xbmc and really open it the chopiness has gone. So what would cause that? Does any one have any idea how to fix that? If not can I run a script which runs when resuming to auto shut the current xbmc and open a fresh one?

I have the same problem. See issue 10261.
Feel free to write a note or two if you have something to add.

Also there's no frame drop, but I have noticed that the fps isn't as stable as it normally is, it tends to wobble a little bit.
I have also notice that this doesn't necessarily be the case the first time resuming from sleep. Normally it takes several sleep and resuming before the problem appears.

Would love for this problem to get fixed. It's an ongoing issue for many people I believe. Take a look at these threads for example:

Saitrix, forgot to say. You could try a program called Hibernate Trigger to close and open XBMC around suspend mode. I've got it but haven't tried it yet (about to do a hardware upgrade after gaining some spare bits and reinstall of Windows - hoping that in itself might resolve my issues around suspend mode but I doubt it lol).

Gah at least it doesn't seem to be just me then! Thanks for the Hibernate Trigger suggestion though, but I am not sure what to put in the path to close xbmc on suspend.

Check this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=69245 I think that hibernate trigger works great until the devs fix this problem.
