Help Needed... Choppy video and no audio
#1
This is my first post but Ive been lurking for some time.

Ive been having some issues with my new XBMC setup.

Its a Zotac Zbox HD-1D11-U (next gen ION gpu)
Running Win XP 2 Gigs of ram Dual core 1.66 Hardwire ethernet
Video and audio via HDMI

My problems seem to happen with HD content.
Some files play choppy and some play choppy and have no audio.

I ran debug mode and CPU usage is around 20 percent.

All files play correctly with audio and very smooth in Windows media player classic with the K-lite Mega codec pack.

In fact I can play the file on XBMC then alt tab and play another file on wmp
and have it be smooth. CPU usage is around 50 percent.

Previous to the Zbox I was running a tower computer.
Pentium D 2.66 I think 2..... gigs of ram. Windows XP Video card was an AGP 9800GT 512 Megs of ram. Audio out via onboard sound and video was a DVI out connected to the TV with an DVI to HDMI adaptor. Hardwire ethernet.

That system had little trouble. sometimes it would play choppy, but a reboot would fix that.

My deductions/assumptions so far.....

My audio trouble is associated to the HDMI connection.
My video not so sure.... other than I think the 9800 just sucked it up and powered though it.

Below are my XBMC debug logs and info about one of the video files.

XBMC rocks, just wish I could get it to do my bidding!

Hello,
do you have dxva activated?
It might be that your cpu can't cope with decoding the video. If i'm not mistaking, ion have dxva.
So you might want to check with and without it.

Hope that's help...

no dxva under XP, that's the problem. Switch to Win7 or Linux with that System.
