Touch screen crash
#1
Hi all.
I'm a bit new too Linux so please bear with me.
I've finally managed to get my jukebox set up with a touch screen but It crashes occasionally while navigating menus.
I've been unable to reproduce it reliably, but it seems to be only happen navigating with the touch screen.
I plugged a mouse in and have been so far been unable to reproduce it with the mouse.
The crash is fatal. I get booted out of SSH and can only physically reset the computer.
It's otherwise totally stable, playing files via the web interface works fine.

Running Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick installed from the minimal ISO. More or less following the XBMCbuntu guide here.
The touchscreen is running off USB with the latest eGalax drivers.
Sound hardware is an Audiophile 2496 outputting stereo.
Motherboard is an Intel D510MO with 2GB RAM
Skin is djtoll's "joggler" touch screen skin.

Heres two logs produced this morning. Both under much the same conditions. #1 http://pastebin.com/zPBUbB4y #2 http://pastebin.com/B1V2aRhs

Any help much appreciated thanks.

Check syslog. Sounds like a problem with the touchscreen/drivers.

Thanks for the sugestion. just checked the syslog, theres nothing in there that corresponds with the crashing. I can see where the system boots after the crash but nothing interesting before that.

The second XBMC log ends at 12:05:47. Heres the two syslog entries surrounding that period.
Code:
Jun 24 11:41:16 ubuntu kernel: [   12.560273] EXT4-fs (sda1): re-mounted. Opts: errors=remount-ro,commit=0
Jun 24 12:06:33 ubuntu kernel: imklog 4.2.0, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
I assume the 12:06 entry is the system restarting.

Does that rule out driver issues? are there other logs I can check?
