EEEBox 1501P XBMC-live optical audio out. analog audio disappeared after crash.
#1
Hi.

Been using xbmc-live on my EEEBox 1501P for 2 month now and it has been working great!
But yesterday when I jumped backwards in a movie xbmc crashed.
And when it started again, there was no analog sound (no navigation sound, no sound for SD movies with mp3 sound, etc).
The passthrough audio (DTS, DD, etc) works great.

My setup looks like this:
eeebox -> HDMI -> TV (only video)
-> optical -> receiver (audio)

My audio settings looks like this:

Audio output: Optical/Coax
Speaker Configuration: 5.1
Boost volume level on downmix OFF
Dolby Digital (AC3) ON
DTS ON
Audio output device Defaults
Passthrough output device HDA Intel iec958

xbmc.log-file when I start a movie with mp3 sound
http://pastebin.com/P3VtMAXy

xbmc-crashlog.log is here
http://pastebin.com/rAyS0qW5
On line 480 is the movie started (the movie that cased the crash).

Someone has any idea of whats wrong? And how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

*edit*
I also have shairport installed and started on startup. But it has always played nice with xbmc.
Now, the sound from shairport doesn't work either.

In alsamixer:
(card HDA Intel)
master: 81
PCM: 82
S/PDIF ON

(card HDA NVivida)
S/PDIF ON (only one there)

Default card is HDA Intel in alsamixer.

S/PDIF Default ON

Ok.

So I have got some audio to work nowSmile
Analog playback in XBMC works now (movies with mp3 sound).

Solution:
sudo wget http://nfye.com/EB1501/HDA-Intel.conf -O /usr/share/alsa/cards/HDA-Intel.conf
sudo wget http://nfye.com/EB1501/asound.conf -O /etc/asound.conf

and then reboot.
And then change Audio output device to iec958

But navigation sound and sound from shairport still doesnt work.

Funny, I had the exact same thing happen last night. I didn't crash though.. but my Harmony One is set up right now such that it restarts XBMC when I switch to that activity (by accident.. I need to fix it). Anyway, it restarted and my audio was gone.

My settings are identical to yours (but running XBMC Live on a Giada G20). I screwed around with stuff a few times, changing settings and changing them back, rebooting, etc. For no clear reason, the audio started working again.. no menu navigation sounds at all still though.

I'll be following this thread.. hopefully someone can help you. (and indirectly, me)
