AAC / Dolby Digital Audio Problem
#1
I'm running XBMC on Ubuntu and trying to play a video with audio in AAC/Dolby Digital and I get no audio output (Trying to play to a set of 5.1 speakers). (Yes, the video file is okay, it plays fine over the network via VLC on windows). I tried installing ubuntu-restricted-extras but that did not help. Any ideas? I'm not sure what kind of information would be useful for me to include, so I apologize in advance for the lack of technical data.

Well the error would be nice Smile, if any. "Unable to initialize audio device" or something?

And a Debug Log pasted to http://pastebin.com.

Also, how have you connected your speakers? Does the problem only occur with AAC or DD? DTS, FLAC, MP3 and others are no problem?

Thank you for the response,

Here is my debug log. And I get no error messages just a lack of audio.

Opened XBMC -> movies -> 300 (h.264, aac) -> let play for a few seconds -> closed

http://pastebin.com/75mg8ifv

My speakers are hooked up via 3x3.5mm audio jacks.

Formats that I have found that DO work:
MP3
MP2

do NOT work:
AAC
AC3
DD

Hope this helps!
