No media playback

All,

This is my first XBMC installation and I cannot play any media.

I am running XBMC pre-11.0 on an ATV2
My SMB share is running on a MacBook Pro running Lion (10.7)
I am able to browse and see files in my video and music folders.
When I try to play mp3 files I get the following output in xmbc.log:

12:57:32 T:132530176 M:113741824 DEBUG: CFileCache::Open - opening <iTunes Music/The Arcade Fire/Unknown Album/02 Intervention.mp3> using cache

12:57:32 T:132530176 M:113741824 DEBUG: Playlist Player: no more playable items... aborting playback

Similar errors are given when I try to play video files. This does not appear to be the sharing issue that many Lion users are complaining of, or perhaps I'm wrong? It seems more like a problem with codecs, but again I'm new to the community.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

That's the problem. Sharing from Lion to XBMC using SMB is broken. See this: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=106659

I am aware, but it sounded like most people were having problems even seeing the share (i.e. could not browse folders, etc). I assumed that since I was able to browse the directory that I had somehow magically worked around the SMB/Lion incompatibility. Plus, the log output seemed to implicate the codecs.

Thanks for all your help and sorry about the multiple posts. I got agitated when I didn't see them appear right away...
