Assertion Failed error at the end of playback
#1
Hello,

At the end of most episodes in the simpsons season 14, a few seconds before the episode ends i'm presented with the folling error:
http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/2659/xbmcerror.png

I've installed net framework 4 (not sure if thats necessary)
I've also tried unchecking the read only attributes on my temp folder at:
C:\Users\HTPC\AppData\Local\Temp
But it does not save the setting.

I've searched and found a few threads with the same error, but there wasn't any replies or resolution.

Heres the debug log:

it is related to a problem with .NET Framework 1.1 - and is required to run Print Shop as well as many other Broderbund products.

The important things for dealing with the "Assertion Failed" error message is to uninstall .NET Framework 1.1, run computer cleanup , after that reinstall .NET Framework 1.1, follow this URL, it will help you to fix the problem

I'd be surprised if it was anything to do with .Net as XBMC doesn't use .Net.

There is an access violation reported in the log, and this is probably the source of the error. XBMC really doesn't like your video. The log is stuffed with playback errors. I would try resampling the file with Handbrake or something similar.

Use 11 beta3 and the problem might be gone. asserts often show wrong delivered parameters and should only fire during debug. In beta3 the asserts are disabled but the root problem is still there but might not show any problems in XBMC anymore.
