i've no idea if this is actually feasible or not, but it would be handy to be able to sort albums by year of release asumming that the info is available in the tags.

often using the new nav/library view i've found myself listing albums by a particular group and wanting to be able to list by year.

unfortunately, album entries in the database do not have a year value unless they have been looked up on allmusic.com. and unless you go to the album info page, this information is largely unavailable. songs, however, do get a year assigned to them if its found in the tag.
