Picking a video card for a HP dx5150
#1
I have an HP dx5150 which I'm hoping to use as a second HTPC. Has anyone had any experience with HDMI video cards for this type of system?

I'm hoping to achieve audio over HDMI.

Well it has PCI Express, so I'd go for an Nvidia GT210. That should give you all you need for 2D 1080p and any kind of audio you like over HDMI. If you need Full 3D support, you'll need at least a GT430. Both are available in fanless varieties if you want that.

Thanks llyydsmart. I had to condense my home computer setup. Previously I had the 5150 as a media server, and was accessing from 2 remote computers. (1 - XBMC, 2- WD Live).

Living situation has changed, so I'm thinking about making the mediapc another XBMC workstation. Its currently running Sickbeard, SABNZB, and thats about it.

I don't see any reason that the hp 5150 with a GT210 shouldn't cut it.

How's this one look? (updated link)

That card looks fine, but wouldn't you prefer a fanless one? The Zotac is good.
