ATV 2 - SMB File Sharing Problem
#1
Hello all,

I am having a big problem getting my SMB to stream my files properly. They work, then suddenly they dont. And all i'm left with is a message saying "This file no longer exists, would you like to delete it?"

I am streaming my movies from an external HD connected to my iMac which is on snow leopard.

I am looking for the best way to stream content to xbmc without this happening. Please help!

Thanks

You should try the AFP protocol - stickie at top of this forum.

Thanks, but that is for Lion users. I'm on snow leopard. Is there anything that will work for me?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't use a mac, but it's a solution for Lion users who lost SMB functionality in Lion, but it's still apple's AFP protocol that was added into XBMC. You can still use it.

Great, didn't know that. I'll give it a go.

Thanks again.

Having said that, you are right, SMB should work for you in Snow Leapard and you may have a different issue causing a lost connection to your external HD.
